6 Trouble-Free Ways to Get Rid of Financial Stress

What causes financial stress?

Do you find yourself constantly regretting how you spend money?  Does it always feel as if a dark cloud is raining financial problems on your life?  Do you spend endless amounts of time crunching numbers to stay afloat?  You’re not alone.  Studies show that the majority of people wrestle with stress caused by finances. Economist/CEO Ilyce Glink suggests that “Financial stress is significantly impacting the lives of Americans. 90% of Americans say that money has an impact on their stress level, while 65% feel like their financial difficulties are piling up overwhelmingly.” Gaining emotional control over your finances is the first step towards achieving prosperity.

Here are a few tips on how to do that:

1) Use a Spreadsheet to Budget

Much of the anxiety associated with finances is a product of mathematical ambiguity.  Instead of guessing how much money you have, count it using a computer.  A little structure can go a long way towards bringing you peace of mind.

2) Live Within Your Means

If you constantly feel as if you don’t have enough money, it could be because you’re spending more than you earn.  The easiest solution to this is to modify your lifestyle into an affordable one.

3) Save Money – Even When You Don’t Feel Like It

Having cash savings is more relaxing than anything you can imagine.  But cash savings can only build up if you make regular deposits.  Save money as a matter of lifestyle, not a matter of choice.

4) Confront Your Debt

Dealing with debt can be painful, especially when you know you have large balances.  But even so, never bury your head in the sand when it comes to debt.  Pay it gradually even if you have to tiptoe along the way.

5) Do Some Soul-Searching

Every time you spend money, pause to evaluate your emotions in the moment.  If you’re spending money to make yourself feel better, chances are you’re being emotionally impulsive.  Never spend money as a way to soothe agitation.

6) Set Some Boundaries

Money is an important thing. But if it’s the only thing you talk, think and dream about, it’s going to torment you.  As far as finances are concerned, accept the things you can’t change, change the things you know you can, and use your intuition to figure out the difference.

Conclusion

Financial freedom isn’t a matter of having millions in the bank.  After all, human beings have infinite needs.  Which basically means we’re capable of having infinite worries about money.  On the contrary, financial freedom as a matter of temperament.  It’s about understanding how to see value in your existence, with or without tremendous fortune.  Money can only determine your fate if you allow it to become the center of the universe.  Learn how to make money, don’t let money make you.  If you like what you just read from our blog, you’ll love the various informative courses, workshops and events listed on our websites and social media.
