6 Facts that Show Why Friendship is Priceless in Life

Why friendship is one of the most valuable part of life?

When you hear the word friendship, what comes to mind?  If you’re anything like the average person, you probably smile and reflect fondly about people who are dear to you.  That simple smile is more than just a good feeling.  It’s evidence of the true power behind friendship.  Friendship is a catalyst of joy.  It’s a form of connection that naturally adds value to people’s lives.

Friends are the Sunshine of Life:

Therapist/Author Arlin Cuncic suggests that, “Great friends have the power to mold you into the best version of yourself. They see you, and love you, for who you truly are. They encourage you and push you to do better, and be the person you want to be—your ‘ideal self.’”

Here are a few heartwarming examples of why good friends are golden:

1.      People who have friends live longer.  Friendship creates an emotional support system which emboldens people to cope throughout the ups and downs of life.

2.      Friends become more and more identical overtime.  As people get to know each other, they begin exchanging mannerisms such as body-language, vocabulary, personal tastes and so on. Don’t be surprised if your best friend is basically a carbon-copy of you.

3.      Friendship is a source of stress-relief in life.  Just the idea of having friends is enough to provide encouragement during moments of hardship.

4.      Friendship strengthens marriage.  When couples vow to stay together for better or worse, this is essentially a pledge of friendship.  Only couples that share friendship stand the test of time.

5.      Statistically speaking, most people make an average of 400 close friends throughout their lifetimes.  The number of true-blue friends you have will fill up an auditorium by the time you die.

6.      Mammals are the only documented life forms which create friendships across species.  This is why people have an easy time making pets, and some unlikely bonds even happen in the wild.

Conclusion:

Friendship is a truly satisfying asset in life.  It creates a strong foundation for interpersonal relationships, and it generally contributes to cohesion in society.  If life ever gives you an opportunity to be friendly with someone, seize the moment, and spread the love.  This world would be a much better place if everyone understood the deep value of friendship.
