5 Unique Random-Acts-of-Kindness

What are the different acts of kindness?

When people think about random acts of kindness, chances are stereotypes come to mind.  Stereotypes like donating blood, donating cash or volunteering at shelters.  While all of these are certainly noble gestures, there are an infinite number of different ways to have a positive impact on your community.  All it takes is a little bit of imagination on your part to figure out innovative ways of sharing kindness:

Kindness Doesn’t Have to Be Cliché:

Author Hafsa Zahid explains that, “Kindness means to stretch your arms wide open and embrace people from all sorts of backgrounds. To make others feel important irrespective of their caste, color, and creed. To help others with an open heart, expecting nothing in return. It’s heartwarming to see how the little things you do can affect the lives of others in such a great way, and how kindness begets kindness.”

Here are a few unique ways to brighten up someone’s day with kindness:

1) Write a Thoughtful Note

If you want to surprise someone in a spontaneous way, write them a kindly-worded letter on pen and paper.  Letters have become so rare that it would actually be a memorable souvenir.

2) Pick Up Litter

There is no neighborhood or community in the world that doesn’t struggle with junk tossed onto the street.  Instead of waiting for someone else to handle it, roll up your sleeves and do it just to be generous.

3) Leave a Generous Tip

If you depend on essential workers for amenities and services, surprise one of them with an outrageously large tip.  Financial rewards can have a big impact on people’s lives.

4) Plant a Tree

If you care about the environment, there’s a lot more you can do beyond recycling.  Find somewhere to plant a new tree so that you can reinforce the ecosystem with fresh plant life.

5) Donate Toys to a Children’s Hospital

Children’s hospitals provide an invaluable service to countless families.  Unfortunately, many children’s hospitals struggle to find resources that can entertain young patients.  Even something as simple as donating toys to a children’s hospital can put a smile on faces that deserve to experience healing.

Conclusion

Do you wish the world would be a kinder and gentler place?  Here’s a fun fact; you have the power to make it that way.  All it takes is for you to be bold enough to show kindness to other people.  Especially through random acts of kindness.
