4 Practical Routines to Gain Control Over Fear and Paranoia

How to remove fear from mind and heart?

Do you find yourself feeling constantly uneasy about your well-being? Do you have difficulty trusting anyone or anything in your environment? Does it always feel like other people are conspiring to make life difficult for you? This relentless fear could be more than just routine anxiety. It could be paranoia. Psychologist Elizabeth Hartney suggests that “Paranoia is a type of thought process known as a delusion. People who are paranoid have suspicions or even beliefs that are not truly grounded in reality, that they are being watched, or that other people, organizations or forces are acting against them or out to get them.”

How to create Self Worth and Self Confidence?

Here are a few tips on how to fight against the grip of paranoia:

1) Heal Your Anxiety

Paranoia is an intensified form of anxiety.  It starts as mild worries, and cascades into an avalanche of stress.  Instead of letting this anxiety fester, commit yourself to healing it.  Nip it in the bud with some therapy, or use your own personal stress-management techniques.

2) Recite Positive Affirmations

Paranoia is a condition which saturates the mind with negative thoughts.  These negative thoughts can only be eliminated when counteracted by positivity.  Positive affirmations program your mind to be more optimistic.

3) Stop Consuming Controversial Media

Paranoia might be triggered by traumatic events, but it’s fueled by sensational information.  No matter how much it might appease you, stop consuming tabloid information on social media or other mass platforms.  Give your mind a break from all the debate and noise.

4) Use Breathing Exercises

If anxiety ever starts to make you feel panicked, a good way to settle down is by using breathing exercises.  Breathing exercises help to oxygenate the blood and relax muscle tension.  They neutralize the fight-or-flight response and help regain composure.

Conclusion

So many scandalous and controversial things have happened in the recent past. Between the pandemic and politics alone, most people are constantly on edge. Such stressful times are precisely the moment when strong mental health is an asset. So do whatever it takes to protect yourself from the sneaky negative influence of paranoia.
